Do you constantly feel sad, depressed, and anxious? Do you prefer to isolate yourself and withdraw from social settings? Maybe too often you feel tired or low on energy? You may be suffering from psychological distress. Don’t worry. You are not alone.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, psychological distress has significantly increased in the past ten years and has almost become the norm. According to Mission Australia, young psychological distress patients have risen by 18% to 26% over the last eight years. That is one in four young people, with females having a higher rate of suffering than males. Twice as many females compared to males have experienced psychological distress.
